Tips for Scanning or Photographing ID Documents
If Using a Camera to Take a Photo
Place the ID on a flat surface.
Use sufficient, natural lighting instead of a flash.
Take the photo as directly above the ID as possible. Be sure that your shadow does not cover your ID.
Make sure that:
- All four edges of your ID are visible within the image;
- All information on the ID is clear and legible – no details are blurred or covered.
If Using a Scanner to Create a Scan
Place the ID in the middle of the scanner so that all four edges of the ID are clearly visible. Do NOT place the ID against one of the corners or sides of the scanner.
Place a dark sheet of paper (or a dark covered book or cloth) on top of the ID.
Scan the ID.
Crop the scan to fit the ID, leaving around a half inch of space around the edges of the ID.
How long does the verification process take?
The verification process typically takes a short amount of time. Around 95% of applications are reviewed and processed within an hour. However, some applications may require more time due to the complexity of the verification process.
Why do I need to provide proof of address?
The requirement to provide proof of address serves the purpose of ensuring that individuals engaging in financial activities are legitimate residents of the respective country or jurisdiction where those activities are conducted. This measure helps maintain the integrity of financial transactions.
What if I recently moved and my proof of address is not updated yet?
If you've recently moved and haven't updated your proof of address, you can submit alternative documents as proof. Acceptable alternatives may include a rental agreement, a letter from your landlord confirming your new address, or an affidavit validating your recent change of address.
My proof of address did not pass verification? What can I do?
If your proof of address does not pass verification for any reason, you have options. You can try submitting a clearer scan of the document for a reevaluation. Alternatively, you may provide a second government-issued ID as an alternative means to successfully complete the verification process.
How often do I need to update my verification information?
You should update your personal details whenever there is a change in your information. Additionally, we may periodically require you to confirm your personal information as part of our ongoing regulatory obligations to ensure that your details remain complete, current, and accurate.
I submitted 2 IDs, why am I being asked for proof of address and/or additional information?
In certain situations, we may need to implement additional verification steps. This could include requesting supplementary documents, proof of address, selfies, or performing biometric face scans to ensure the highest level of security and compliance.
Is the information for every country the same?
No, the information and document requirements can vary from country to country. These differences are dictated by the laws and regulations of each nation, which govern access to specific information and verification processes.
Will my personal details be safe?
Absolutely! We prioritize the security of your personal information. We have dedicated measures in place to securely store client data, invest in cutting-edge technology, and provide comprehensive staff training to maintain the highest levels of security and confidentiality. Your privacy and data protection are paramount to us.
